RON WILLEY COURSE HOSTED BY ARTEMIS OPTICAL LTD IS A GREAT SUCCESS!

Artemis Optical Ltd are proud to have hosted, with great success, a ‘Practical Design and Production of Optical Thin Films’ course led by Ron Willey.

Ron is an internationally respected and experienced figure in the Optical Thin Films industry, with over 50 years experience as an individual contributor and director of optical systems, optical coating development, design and production.  Ron also holds four patents and has recently published two books, ‘Practical Design of Optical Thin Films, Second Edition’ and ‘Practical Production of Optical Thin Films’. 

The course was held at Artemis’ facilities in Plymouth, South West UK from 24th May to 28th May 2010.  Artemis' state of the art facilities include a 22, 000 square foot, environmentally controlled production area and a range of modern coating chambers.  All course participants were given the rare opportunity of a factory tour, which allowed them to see some of what they had learnt on the course being put into practice.  Commenting on the event, Kevin Mackrodt (Artemis’ Operations Director),

“Hosting a course such as this is a new experience for Artemis Optical and we are delighted at the outcome.  Ron’s courses are renowned known for their excellent content and it was a delight to experience this first hand.   Participants included individuals of all different levels from Coating Technicians through to Technical Managers and Ron managed to adapt the course to ensure that everyone benefited.  Artemis employees are already putting into practice the new skills they have learnt and this can only be of benefit to the company as a whole”.

SALES TEAM REFORM FOR ARTEMIS OPTICAL LTD!

Fitting with the current mood, Artemis have engaged in a cabinet reshuffle of their own, with new recruits to the Sales Team.  Glynn Eveleigh joins us as Sales Manager - Precision Coatings and Ryan Gillard as Sales Executive.

Glynn offers 8 years of sales experience and most importantly bags of enthusiasm.  Having only been with the company for a month, Glynn fits into the team well and is delighted to be working with a range of new and existing Artemis customers.

Ryan having graduated from the University of Plymouth in 2006 (BA Hons Marketing), has spent the last few years working in Sales and Purchasing. Ryan will primarily be working with Artemis' defence customers in supporting our Sales Director Claire Burke, who comments,

"Our mission statement for 2010 is 'IMPROVE' and bringing Ryan and Glynn on board can only contribute to this.  Aligned with our intent to become the technology leader in our chosen market segments, Glynn and Ryan will be focusing on developing an ever deeper knowledge of their target market segments, to benefit our customers.  I am really pleased with our new structure and 2010 looks set to be a very exciting year for the sales team".
